The ZARMS add-on asks only for permission to identify you and to handle the one email or document you have open. It doesn’t ask to read your whole inbox or every file in your Drive.

Permissions it asks for

Google’s permission screen shows these in Google’s own words.

What it doesn’t read

  • Emails you haven’t opened, your inbox list or labels. It doesn’t send or delete email either.
  • Drive files ZARMS didn’t create. For a document where you press Allow access in the side panel, ZARMS receives only its ID and doesn’t read the content.
ZARMS doesn’t sell data received from Google or use it for ads. It doesn’t use it to train general-purpose AI models either. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How this differs from ZARMS’s own permissions

When you sign in to ZARMS, it asks for Google Drive and language settings permissions (Sign in). The add-on asks for its permissions separately on Google’s screen. Removing the add-on leaves ZARMS’s own permissions in place.

Revoke the permissions

You can revoke the add-on’s permissions when you remove it. See Remove the add-on.
