ZARMS has no text box for a card’s description. Instead, each card gets one Google Doc and one Google Drive folder. You write the description in the doc and put files in the folder. You can use everything Google Docs offers, such as tables, images, and editing together.

Write the description

The card’s Google Doc appears on the Document tab in the middle of the card details. You can type right there, and your changes save automatically. You don’t need to press Save changes in ZARMS. If you’d like a bigger screen, you can open the Google Doc in another tab and edit it there. It’s the same doc. A card created from a template card starts with a copy of the template’s document format. Any other card starts with an empty doc.

Add files

The card’s Google Drive folder appears on the Folder tab.
  • Use Add files to upload files from your computer or add shortcuts to files that are already in Google Drive.
  • Use Open Drive to open the folder in Google Drive.
The card’s folder is inside the board’s folder. For the overall structure, see Google Drive structure and permissions.

If the doc or folder doesn’t appear

A card’s doc and folder are set up when the card is created. If they don’t exist yet, they are created when you open the card details. If they still don’t appear, check the message on the tab. For other errors, see Google Drive shows an error.

Descriptions written by AI agents or the API

When a card is created by an AI agent or through the API, the description is first saved on the card and then written to the Google Doc a little later. If the doc doesn’t show it yet, press Write to Google Doc on the Document tab. ZARMS won’t write to a doc that already has text in it.

When you cancel a card

When you cancel a card, “This card was cancelled on (date).” is added to the top of its doc. The doc and folder are not deleted or moved. For details, see Done, Cancelled, and Archive.
