# Join a team you were invited to

> Steps for people an admin invited to ZARMS. There are two kinds of invitations, by email address and by invite link. Either way, you join by signing in with a Google account.

ZARMS doesn't send invitation emails. The admin who invited you should tell you either "Sign in with the Google account for this email address" or "Open this invite link." Check which kind of invitation you got before you continue.

## If you were invited by email address

**1. Check the invited address**

Confirm the email address the admin used for your invitation. If you use separate Google
accounts for work and personal use, be careful not to mix them up.

**2. Sign in with the Google account for that address**

Go to [app.zarms.cloud](https://app.zarms.cloud) and sign in with the Google account for the
invited address. The steps are the same as in [Sign in](https://help.zarms.cloud/en/getting-started/sign-in.md).

**3. The team's Home opens**

You join the team as soon as you sign in. There's no button to accept the invitation.

Email address invitations don't expire. They work until an admin cancels them.

## If you were invited with an invite link

**1. Open the invite link**

Open the link you got from the admin. It starts with `https://app.zarms.cloud/join/…`.

**2. Sign in with a Google account**

If you're not signed in, the sign-in screen appears. Sign in with the Google account you want to
join with, and you'll join the team right away.

**3. If you're already signed in, check the details and join**

If you're already signed in to ZARMS, the "Join team" confirmation screen appears. Check
**Team**, **Role you'll get**, and **Signed in as**, then press **Join team**.

If the account on the confirmation screen isn't the one you want to join with, press **Join with another account**. You'll be signed out, and after you choose another account, you'll return to the same link.

Invite links don't check your email address. Anyone who has the link can join with any Google account. Each link has an expiration date and a limit on how many times it can be used. After that, it stops working.

## After you join

When you join, the team's Home opens. My Board has one card called "Finish onboarding." Follow the steps on the card. Items are checked off automatically as you do them. You can also check items yourself.

* **Ask AI how to use ZARMS**: Checked when you ask a question in the Home field or AI search and get an answer.
* **Create cards for this week's tasks**: Checked when you create a card yourself, including cards created from AI suggestions. This onboarding card doesn't count.
* **Edit your profile**: Checked when you open your own row on the [Members](https://help.zarms.cloud/en/team/members.md) page and save your profile, groups, or skills. Add the groups you belong to and your skills too.
* **Invite members to ZARMS**: Only owners and managers have this item. Checked when you invite a member.

Guests can't open the Members page, so they have two items: "Ask AI how to use ZARMS" and "Create cards for this week's tasks".

## If something goes wrong

| What happened | What to do |
| - | - |
| The team creation screen appeared after you signed in | You may have signed in with a different Google account than the one you were invited with. Don't create a new team. Check [this article](https://help.zarms.cloud/en/troubleshooting/cannot-sign-in.md#the-team-creation-screen-appears) instead |
| You saw "This invite link is invalid or expired." | The link expired, reached its usage limit, or was turned off. Ask the admin for a new link |
| You saw "This team is at its member limit, so you can't join." | The team has reached its member limit. Contact an Owner or Manager |
| You saw "This team is suspended." | The team's subscription has stopped. Contact an Owner or Manager |
